On a recent journey to Nepal there were many memories. One the most profound was the walk along the Bagmati River that runs through Kathmandu with the Pashupatinath Temple along side. The Hindus and Buddhists consider the Bagmati as a holy river where the spirits of the people are purified. Along the walk, what one was much taken by was the many vivid colours of which orange will forever be remembered.

In June, 2013 a number of people in Southern Alberta were devastated by floods and this extended to family. The light within the darkness of this devastation was the remarkable strength of the community in how they came came together in lending a helping hand to each other.

This piece was painted under/with the leaves from the backyard ash tree and some rose purchased in Chicago on travel. Inspiration - reflection of this time and for that family, one of whom goes by the name Rambo.

Not Available - This piece was lost for a few months and this past week went back to work on. The objective to lend some flavour to a room where people gather. The lesson learned in this piece was that it is ok to crash on the way down the mountain, give it time and get back on the boards to make the same run again. You learn from falling down.
